Grizzly Hit

Everyone needs to do themselves a favor and go to Virgin to pick up the Phil Spector box set they're giving away for $15. I bought mine last month and it's seriously the shit and a half. My favorite song by far is "He Hit Me" performed by The Crystals. It is the most absurd song ever written starting with the line "He hit me and it felt like a kiss." Yay feminism! My mom came to visit last weekend and I made sure to play it for her. The next day, a band who I love more and more every waking day, Grizzly Bear, released their cover of it. I seriously couldn't love them more. Please have a listen.

Can we talk about Jack Palance?

How many times has he died? During dinner with Alex, I joked about Jack Palance dying every year. When he popped up in the dead people montage during last night's Oscars, I had a seizure. No joke. I was convulsing. I may had been under the influence of certain substances, but I am sure Jack fucking Palance has died more than a few times. Seriously, I've seen that clip of him doing one-handed push-ups at least 200 times by now! Alex immediately checked Wikipedia which says he died in November 2006. Bullshit!

This may seem a little late because Fashion Week here in New York ended a while ago, but I thought I would share anyhow. Every fashion week, the neighborhood I live in is bombarded with an influx of enough yupsters to make anyone a little bit annoyed. But there is a compensatory prize for all of the neighborly coping and that is getting to run into hot male models at your everyday local bodega. The most striking young chap I saw was a towering beauty in shiny bright red patent shoes and eating an absurdly large chocolate bar. He just screamed Hedi Slimane London posh boy. I didn't know until this morning, thanks to COACD, that it was Cole Mohr and that I was completely right on about Hedi's tastes. *bows*

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

Today, I have no time to tell you anything other than that Performance came out on DVD last week and you should all see it...several times.
